Is Beef Tallow Good for Skin?

Who would have thought beef tallow is amazing for the skin? Interestingly, our ancestors used tallow for a myriad of things. So why isn't tallow more widely used? Tallow has been put aside due to the product industry seeking after cheap ingredients, BUT tallow is making a comeback in the skin care industry. Keep reading as to why we use tallow!

Tallow is fat that is rendered, or sourced, from solid fat, known as suet. Tallow is known for its moisturizing and nourishing properties for the skin. Tallow Vera products contain beef suet that surrounds the kidneys of the cow. This suet is ideal, as it is highest in nutrients. Suet from grass-fed cows is superior to grain-fed cows, as it contains higher levels of Omega-3s, CLA, choline, oleic acid, and fat-soluble vitamins A, B12, D, E and K. Some of the benefits of using tallow for skin include:

  1.   Moisturization: Tallow is rich in fatty acids that help to moisturize and hydrate the skin. It can help to prevent dryness and flakiness, leaving the skin feeling soft and supple.
  2.   Anti-aging: Tallow contains vitamins A, D, and K, which are essential for healthy skin. These vitamins can help to reduce the appearance of fine lines and wrinkles, and improve skin elasticity.
  3. Healing: Tallow has antimicrobial and anti-inflammatory properties that can help to heal and soothe irritated or damaged skin. It can also help to reduce redness and swelling.
  4.   Compatibility: Tallow is similar in composition to human skin cells, making it easily absorbed and compatible with all skin types, including sensitive skin.

Instead of toxic products, tallow is a natural and effective ingredient for promoting healthy, nourished skin. Keep your skin happy and healthy, it will be thanking you later!
